A Girls’ Weekend at Loews Aventura
I’m so excited to share my recent girls’ trip to Orlando! Bianca, Brittany, Cristina and I had a spontaneous, jam-packed weekend at the new Universal’s Aventura Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort. The glamorous property joined the Universal Orlando Resort family in August of this year and is quickly becoming a highlight destination in Orlando.
Although we were eager to start our adventure, we were a little exhausted after catching 6 AM flights. But the moment we walked onto the property, we were floored and inspired, and full of energy! The overall design of the property and little touches of design throughout the property were so chic. The chandeliers, unique light fixtures, fun pops of color… And as if our check-in experience couldn’t get any better; low and behold, there was a Starbucks in the lobby! 😍
The amenities were out of this world. Universal’s Aventura Hotel boasts over 600 rooms. Not to mention, a virtual game room, state-of-the-art fitness center, and even a Universal Studios Store (which is where we purchased all our Muggle merch!). Our room had a breathtaking view of all three parks with floor-to-ceiling windows. But by far, my favorite feature was the in-room technology. With the in-room iPad, we were able to control the lighting and temp, purchase park tickets, even order room service!
Every morning, we had a routine: Starbucks, breakfast buffet at Urban Pantry and then catching the shuttle to the parks! The food at Urban Pantry was so good that we actually came back one day just for lunch! The food hall offers ramen bowls and wok bowls, pizza, hamburgers, and so much more. Breakfast, lunch and dinner sorted! We were really impressed with the selection and even happier with the prices, which were cheaper than food in the parks.
Besides Urban Pantry, there’s also Bar Bistro 17 at the roof of the hotel. The 360 degree views from the bistro are mind-blowing. After exploring Universal CityWalk, we ended each night at Bar Bistro 17 with some sliders to share and a few Almost Sangrias from the bar!
In between all the excitement, we spent some much needed down time at the pool. I was really impressed with the layout of the pool area, which could be enjoyed by both adults and kids. There’s a kiddie splash pad that is separate and perfectly hidden away from the pool and hot tub. The pool itself was surrounded by 3 lifeguards which is ideal for parents trying to get some down time. The poolside bar was a cozy spot with plenty of seating, including a fire pit!
BONUS: Universal’s Aventura Hotel guests have direct access to Universal’s Volcano Bay! So after laying out poolside and sipping on mojitos from Bar Sol, we took a five minute walk over to the park.
Both days at Universal Orlando’s theme parks were a total BLAST. When visiting, I highly recommend getting a Universal Express Pass. It was like having the red carpet rolled out for us… I don’t think we waited in line for more than 5 minutes for any ride! AND, as one of the perks of staying at Universal’s Aventura Hotel, enjoyed early park admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal’s Volcano Bay one hour before the parks opened!! Here’s a little recap of our two days spent at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure:
We spent most of our time ogling and perusing the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We got sorted into houses, drank Butter Beer, found our perfect wands, and chased away dementors! When we weren’t enjoying drinks back at the hotel, we were sipping on Dragon Scale in Diagon Alley. 🍻
As I mentioned earlier, we spent a lot of time on Universal’s CityWalk. The complex is one big stretch of amazing food, shopping and entertainments. Later, we would all learn that bringing Voodoo Doughnuts onto a plane is a quick way to make friends!
Thank you so much Universal Aventura for having us! We absolutely loved the heck out of our stay. The property was sleek, stylish and perfectly priced. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else when in Orlando. 💞
