3 Rules To Go By at NYFW

Hi, lovelies! It’s that time of year again; I’m gearing up for another New York Fashion Week! From shows, shoots, presentations to dinner meetings with brands and friends, I’m ready for another week of pure excitement! ✨
I have 3 simple rules that I follow every year for NYFW.
HAVE A SIMPLE DO
My hair has a mind of its own sometimes, especially when I need it to cooperate with me. For long days spent running around from location to location alongside outfit changes, I opt for a simple, versatile hairstyle. For morning shows, I’ll have my hair down and bone-straight. By the time lunch comes around, I part it down the middle and wrap it into a low bun. And by night time, I unravel my bun to have wavy tresses that I then put into a half-up half-down style. I find that this process makes things a little less chaotic and more seamless for each look I change into throughout the day.
SMALL ACCESSORIES
From bags to jewelry, keeping these things small avoid the possibility of being weighed down by the end of the day. I find that when I carry a big bag, its contents start out with just my wallet, keys, phone, and makeup. But at the end of the day, I just end up collecting junk and hoarding things, filling up the entire bag! Carrying a smaller bag forces me to not carry unnecessary items around with me, just the essentials. In terms of jewelry, I find that little pieces can really accentuate and compliment any outfit. Pieces that are big and loud can be lovely, but don’t necessarily go with every outfit change. Plus, I’m doing myself a service by not lugging around accessories!
3. FIND THE RIGHT SUPPORT
My first NYFW was chaos. It’s not as graceful as pictures make it seem (i.e. changing in the back of cabs between shows and ripping clothes. Yay!) And for the life of me, I couldn’t understand why I thought wearing heels ALL DAY would be a great idea. Obviously, I wore them in the name of fashion. BUT, coming back to the hotel with blisters wasn’t ideal. This year, I’ll be wearing my favorite heels sans blisters, courtesy of Dr. Scholl’s Stylish Step™ High Heel Relief Insoles! These babies make all the difference. They provide all-day comfort so I can wear whatever heels I want for as long as I want. What’s awesome about these insoles is that they’re made out of a slim translucent gel and appear to be invisible, so I can move comfortably while looking great. They’re pretty simple to put on; just peel off the sticker and attach them to the inside of the shoe! I got my insoles at Target in the footcare aisle near the pharmacy. There’s a Cartwheel offer on Dr. Scholl’s Stylish Step™ Insoles right now, so be sure to check that out here! #DrScholls
